Melody appeared in each of the Tigers' 18 contests, including 17 starts. During her four years at Pacific, Melody played in 68 contests. Showing her true 'team first' attitude, Demel became a decoy and a distributor this season as she finished second on the team with four assists and also notched one goal on the season.<b>2006 (Junior):</b><br>Melody played and started in all 19 of the Tigers' contests during her junior season. Demel tied for second on the team with four goals and also delivered two assists during 2006. Melody's second goal of the season pulled the Tigers even against NorPac rival Stanford on Sept. 30. Pacific went on to earn a 3-2 victory over the Cardinal in the contest.<b>2005 (Sophomore):</b><br>Demel had an impressive sophomore season with the Tigers as she played in all 20 of the Tigers' contests. Melody took five shots and scored three points on one goal and one assist in her second season with Pacific. Her goal came on the road, the game winner against Davidson on Oct. 16 as the Tigers won 3-1 for their sixth win of the season.<b>2004 (Freshman):</b><br>Melody appeared in 11 games for Pacific as a freshman, including six starts. She was sidelined in early October with a leg injury. However, before the injury, Demel scored two goals and had one assist. Following an aggressive rehabilitation program, Demel hoped to be ready for the 2005 season.<b>High School:</b><br>Demel graduated from Fallbrook High School in Fallbrook, Calif. As a member of the Warriors, Melody led her squad to the CIF semi-finals in both 2002 and 2003. Demel and the Warriors posted a combined 31-17-1 record over those two seasons. A prolific offensive weapon, Demel scored 10 goals and had 12 assists in 2003. The previous year she recorded eight goals and eight assists. Following the 2003 season, Melody was named to the All-CIF San Diego Section First Team and the All-Avocado League First Team. The Warriors' team captain in 2003, Demel earned the team's Most Inspirational Player for both the 2002 and 2003 seasons. In addition, Demel participated in the USFHA Futures program from 2002-2004.<b>Personal:</b><br>Melody Demel is the daughter of Rev. Mark and Cathy Demel. She has three older siblings, Jennifer (27), Becky (25) and Erica (23). In her fourth year at Pacific, Melody is majoring in communication and hopes to work in public relations.<b>MacDonald on Demel:</b><br> "Mel plays with great determination and intensity.
